Opportunity for the HORIZON-CL5-2023-D5-01-12 funding call

Demonstrations to accelerate the switch to safe use of new sustainable climate neutral fuels in waterborne transport (ZEWT Partnership)

Deadline:

April 20, 2023

Project types:

  1. HORIZON-IA HORIZON Innovation Actions

Project Proposal

The call HORIZON-CL5-2023-D5-01-12 has been scheduled to close, so this opportunity is no longer current.

The challenge is to increase confidence in, and acceptability of, the viability of
sustainable climate neutral fuels where full operational demonstration has yet to be achieved, including for example green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol sustainable liquid and gaseous advanced biofuels and other advanced intermediate bioenergy and synthetic renewable energy carriers, together with their associated
power systems.

There a few roles still open. Please find the required expertise/tasks below:

1) Role of the Fuel cell provider:
• Define the fuel cell technology (alkaline FCs, proton exchange membrane (PEM) FCs (PEMFCs), solid oxide FCs (SOFC), molten carbonate FCs (MCFCs), etc)
• Define the liquid carrier (LOHC, ammonia)
• Define metrics for System reliability and robustness
• Define Energy efficiency
• Define cost-efficiency for replicability
• Detailed design of the liquid carrier
• FAT and Vessel Acceptance Tests (VAT)

2) Role of the mechanical engineer
• Design installation and integration of the shaft engine
• Structural studies and reinforcement of structures
• Cable trays support for MV cables

3) Role of the electrical engineer
• Detailed design of the new electrical equipment’s (PV + MV connection)
• Integration of the new equipment’s
• Protection of these equipment in the substation
• Layout engineering
• Cabling
• Connection to the busbar
• FAT and VAT
